THE GOLDEN MOOR STORY
When is a Moor a “Healing Moor”?
By definition Moor means tract of open country that may be either dry with heather and associated vegetation or wet with an acid peat vegetation. If wet, a moor is generally synonymous with bog type of wetland ecosystem characterized by wet, spongy, poorly drained peaty soil - most being wastelands comprised mainly of inorganic slurry.
A Healing Moor (Heilmoor) Bog occurs only with a fortuitous combination of geological, biological (vegetation), and geographical attributes occuring together and then lying undisturbed for about 30,000 years.
About Golden Moor
After an extensive search of 63 bogs throughout Canada, founder Marc Saint-Onge discovered the Casselman bog.
The Casselman bog came to be after the last ice age as a fertile valley in Canada's Outaouais region was sealed off, flooded, and became a huge lake submerging all it's unique and numerous species of herbs, flowering plants and grasses. This long process transformed the plants into cellulose, then later, microbial decomposition transformed them into a deep, organic, earthy magma (moor mud) having a high concentration of active substances. This unique combination is known as a “moor bouquet”.
The remote and natural source lake for Golden Moor Mud has been isolated and protected from population, industry, and pollution (unlike many European bogs) and yields only the rarest, most pristine organic moor mud. The quality of the moor in this goverment protected area is of exceptional quality due to it's unique botanical composition and high humic content - higher than any other moor mud found anywhere in the world.
In 1987, Golden Moor was founded so as to bring this “Golden Moor Mud” to the world.
About Golden Moor Mud
An analysis of the Golden Moor Moor Mud reveals a unique collection of plants, minerals, trace elements, amino acids, vitamins, enzymes, all of which are hydrosoluble, liposoluble, hold a high level of humic acid, contain salicylates, phytohormones, and have a 5.5 pH balance.
This makes Golden Moor Mud an effective astringent, absorbent, ion exchanger, hormone balancer, anti-inflammatory, cell regenerator and the humic acids aid in preventing arthritic and rheumatic pain and give the body a sense of well-being. Many have used Golden Moor Mud to detoxify the body as well as to treat sprains, arthritis, fibromyalgia, carpal tunnel, skin conditions including dry skin, eczema, rosacea, wounds and cuts.*
Golden Moor mud is extracted only during the winter months in order to protect and preserve this pristine bog. Boring through the frozen surface to a depth of 5 to 15 meters, where warm thermal spring currents constantly circulate, where the Golden Moor mud lies. After extraction Golden Moor mud is verified and analyzed by an independent laboratory to ensure quality and equilibrium in it's therapeutic values. At the Golden Moor facilities nearby, specialized equipment is used to filtrate, homogenize, and pasteurize the moor before making the many Golden Moor products.
